NRCS –
Huc 17040212 (Middle Snake) has been received by Titan for processing. They are currently working on the delineation process, and should have deliverables to NRCS by Friday, May 24th.
REO/ Titan produced watersheds within Washington and Idaho and put these watersheds out for review. IDWR downloaded the shared review hucs and contacted each individual data steward for that area, giving them opportunity for input. IDWR has plots of each huc with acreages currently out for review, along with some suggested changes, etc. We will be submitting these changes to REO after the meeting. REO’s deadline for comments has passed - if you have any comments on REO watersheds, they need to be submitted now.
The Utah portion of Hucs 16010201 and 16010203 have been through final field review and approval with the Utah Review Committee. Karen would like to get the Idaho side of both hucs completed as soon as possible, and would like Idaho to review these hucs during the May 10th TWG meeting. Utah is working on two new subbasins, hucs 16010204 (No Idaho) and 17040210 (Idaho). These hucs will likely have 5th/6th levels delineated (by Utah) by the May 10th meeting. Karen needs the Idaho portion of these hucs so that the hucs may be coded and for inclusion in her/our database.
Leigh Bailey attended a meeting with Nick Gerhardt on April 16. They delineated concept lines for the Lower Salmon 17060209, Little Salmon 17060210 and Middle Salmon-Chamberlain 17060207. They also named and numbered everything. She will bring the map with her for the May 10th TWG meeting.
Nick Gerhardt has four hucs ready for the review process. They are 17060301, 17060302, 17060304, and 17060305, all in the Clearwater Basin. He would like to have an idea of when these hucs could be reviewed for planning purposes. Nick will participate in the TWG meeting via conference call on 5/10.
Salmon-Challis National Forests –
Betsy Rieffenberger has the following hucs either partially or completely ready for review: 17040217 (Little Lost), 17040218 (Big Lost), 17060201 (Upper Salmon), 17060202 (Pahsimeroi), 17060203 (Middle Salmon-Panther), 17060204 (Lemhi), 17060205 (Upper Middle Fork), 17060206 (Lower Middle Fork). They share the Upper Salmon, Upper Middle Fork and Lower Middle Fork with the Sawtooth, Boise and Payette National Forests. Betsy can coordinate with Leigh on these areas. Their priority for review would be 1) Middle Salmon-Panther (17060203, 2) Upper Salmon (17060201), 3) Lemhi (17060204), 4) Lower Middle Fork (17060206). The remaining hucs are not prioritized. The Pahsimeroi has some unusual landforms that cause mapping problems to the mouths of streams, so this huc will probably take a lot of review. Betsy will try to make the 5/10 TWG meeting by phone to discuss the mapping that has been done so far, and the possibility of including some Salmon-Challis hucs for the next review process.
Idaho Panhandle National Forest –
Rick Patten continues to work on the changes identified for the Priest huc (17010215). He also sent an e-mail with .jpg files for 1) Coeur d’Alene Lake, which includes the Lower River, South fork and North fork hucs, 2) Pend Oreille, which includes Pend Oreille Lake and Lower Clark Fork in Idaho, 3) Kootenai which includes both Kootenai River and Moyie River in Idaho, 4) Priest River, 5) St. Joe, which includes both the St. Joe River and Little North Fork Clearwater River hucs. He would appreciate any comments or feedback. Some of the hucs are not fully developed at the 6th code because there is little or no national forest in those hucs. Rick states that Doug Fitting (IDL) is planning on helping with those areas. IDWR has received the new linework from IPNF, and it will be incorporated into the master watershed coverage when reviewed.
IDWR hosted a NetMeeting with Michael Philbin on May 3rd. Several areas were delineated (see Teton map) (Moody Creek and Canyon Creek) per Michael’s input.
BLM suggested changes for huc 17050101 at the last TWG meeting and IDWR made those changes. See map, with changes, at the May 10th TWG meeting.
Caty Clifton is the contact person for huc 17060103, which is currently one of the REO review hucs. Umatilla NF participated in the development and review of this subbasin and provided their input to REO.
IDWR has been reviewing hucs 16010201 and 16010203 for Utah, and identifying suggested changes for the Idaho side of the hucs. The delineations that were identified at the last TWG meeting for hucs 17040204 and 17050101 have been made and incorporated into the master watershed coverage. IDWR has coordinated watershed data between data stewards, and plotted out misc. maps for the TWG meeting review.
