HUC
REVIEW
Lake Walcott 17040209 – The TWG reviewed this huc.
The new 5th field delineation (Champagne Creek) at the
northern portion of the huc, will be split into two 6th field hucs,
in order to separate out Champagne Creek as a 6th field.
All
of the Rattlesnake Butte and Larkspur Park 5th field units will be
“zero’d out” for the 6th fields because of lava and no
hydrologic features to delineate.
The
Paddleford Flat and East Paddleford Flat 6th field units will be
combined within the Wagon Butte 5th field unit.
The
Mac Rae Lake and Spud Butte 6th field units will be combined within
the Wagon Butte 5th field unit.
The
Broken Top Butte, Sand Butte, Rock Lake, Black Ridge Well, Black Ridge Crater,
Shale Butte, and Monument Reservoir 6th field units will be combined
into one oversized 6th field unit within the Black Ridge Crater 5th
field, due to no hydrologic features to delineate.
The
Brockie Lake, Crystal Ice Cave, and Whiskey Butte 6th fields will be
combined into one 6th field within the Minidoka 5th field
unit.
The
Brigham Point and Wapi 6th field units will be combined into one 6th
field within the Snake River-Lake Walcott 5th field unit.
Part
of the eastern portion of the Lake Channel Canyon 6th field unit will
be redrawn and put with the Snake River-Little Creek 6th field unit.
This will change the 5th field designation for this area, to
the Snake River-Massacre Rocks 5th.
The
5th field division between Snake River-Massacre Rocks and Snake
River-Lake Walcott units will be redrawn to break at a small stream confluence.
A
portion of the 6th field boundary line between the Snake River-Parees
Island and Snake River-Jackson may be redrawn and moved south (see shapefile
TWG20051117.shp for exact line). Erv
Cowley and Christa Braun will make this determination.
A
portion of the 5th field line between the Rupert and Snake
River-Milner Dam 5th field units will be redrawn.
Also, the 6th field line between the Snake River-Burley and
Snake River-Starphs Ferry units will be redrawn.
See shapefile “TWG20051117.shp” for line placement in this area.
For
all above-mentioned changes, refer to shapefile created during the meeting,
“TWG20051117.shp”. Genna Ashley
will send Erv Cowley and Christa Braun the Lake Walcott shapefile and also the
TWG20051117 shapefile, and they will make the changes to this huc.
Birch Creek 17040216 – The TWG reviewed this huc.
There was one small change in the 6th field linework for the
Birch Creek Headwaters 6th field unit.
This line was redrawn (see shapefile TWG20051117.shp).
Genna Ashley will make this small change, and this huc will be considered
draft approved.
Medicine Lodge 17040215 – The TWG reviewed this huc.
The confluence at the 6th field huc Webber Creek was cleaned
up.
The
Medicine Lodge Creek 6th field unit was redrawn to create a pure 6th,
and the leftover portion of the huc was put into the Medicine Lodge Creek Outlet
6th field.
The
6th field unit 170402150302 (no named 6th field feature
available) was combined with the Deep Creek Outlet 6th field unit.
The
6th field boundary line between the Johnston Lake, North Lake, and
Mud Lake was redrawn – see shapefile TWG20051117.shp for details.
A
portion of the 5th (and 6th ) field boundary between the
Mud Lake and Idaho National Laboratory 5th field units will be
redrawn (see shapefile TWG20051117.shp).
The
170402150604 and 170402150603 (no named 6th field features) 6th
field units will be combined into one 6th field unit, within the
Idaho National Laboratory 5th field unit.
The
Argonne West and 170402150602 (no named 6th field features) 6th
field units will be combined into one 6th field unit, within the
Idaho National Laboratory 5th field unit.
The
Taylor Well, 170402150607, and 170402150609 (no named features available on the
numbered hucs), will be combined into one 6th field unit, within the
Idaho National Laboratory 5th field unit.
Name
changes: huc 170402150508 will be
renamed Second Owsley Canal. Huc
number 170402150610 (Second Owsley Canal) will be renamed Crystal Lake Canal.
There
is one very large proposed 4th field boundary change between the
Medicine Lodge and Beaver Camas hydrologic units. This will be discussed during the December, 2005 TWG meeting.
For
all above-mentioned changes, please see shapefile “TWG20051117.shp”.
Genna Ashley will make these changes, and send the final linework to Luke
White, Randy Lee and/or Julie Bisbee at INL for possible review.
After the linework changes have been made, this huc will be considered
draft approved, pending the possible 4th field boundary change, or
any changes INL may propose.
Beaver-Camas 17040214 – The TWG reviewed this huc.
Erv Cowley stated that Camas Creek feeds into Mud Lake, and therefore,
the Mud Lake Area (currently in the Medicine Lodge 4th field unit)
should be moved into the Beaver-Camas huc.
This would be hydrologically correct.
If this change were implemented, it would take the Holly Canal, Mud Lake,
North Lake, and 170402150508 (no named 6th field features) 6th
field units within the Mud Lake 5th field unit and move them into the
Beaver Camas 4th field huc. These
5th and 6th field features would then become part of the
Camas Creek Outlet 5th field unit within the Beaver-Camas huc.
This issue will be revisited during the December TWG meeting.
ACTION
ITEMS:
Christa Braun will make the changes for the Lake Walcott hydrologic
unit, after she receives the meeting notes and TWG linework from Genna Ashley.
Genna Ashley will make the changes for the Birch Creek, Medicine
Lodge and Beaver Camas hucs.
The
TWG will make Upper Snake-Rock and the Blue Gill landslide area in Salmon Falls
a priority, putting them on the December agenda.
Genna
Ashley will send Valdon Hancock the latest Upper Snake Rock linework – this
huc will be put on the December agenda.
MISCELLANEOUS
DISCUSSION
Erv Cowley would like to move a boundary in the Salmon Falls hydrologic unit. This are is a shared area with Utah. The area in question is the Blue Gill landslide, that is still moving. Erv has moved this line to the dam; the original delineation was to the stream, but it is hydrologically correct to move it to the landslide area.
The TWG will make Upper Snake-Rock and the Blue Gill landslide area in Salmon Falls a priority, putting them on the December agenda. Valdon Hancock and Erv Cowley are retiring January 3rd, and the group would like to get their input before they leave. Genna Ashley will get the latest Upper Snake Rock linework from Sandra Thiel and send it to Valdon Hancock so that he may begin his review.
Erv Cowley has received the latest linework from Nevada for the Owyhee units along the border. Nevada has only delineated these hucs to the 5th field. Erv Cowley will propose funding service to the BLM to complete the Idaho portion of the Owyhee hydrologic units.
