HUC
REVIEW
Lake Walcott 17040209 – There are several 4th field boundary
differences between Lake Walcott and surrounding hydrologic units.
The TWG group worked on one 4th field boundary area between
the Lake Walcott and Upper Snake Rock units (see shapefile TWG20050923.shp for
specific line placement). There is
another area between the Lake Walcott and Raft River hucs, at the mouth of Raft
River. Valdon Hancock is working on
this huc and will have it completed soon. When
Valdon’s edits are complete, we will edge-match Lake Walcott with his work in
that area. The other 4th
field boundary difference is located between the Lake Walcott and Big Lost
hydrologic units. Genna Ashley will
pull the old delineations for the Big Lost unit, before this area became part of
the Lake Walcott unit, and merge the 5th and 6th field
linework into the Lake Walcott huc, renumber, etc. These changes will be incorporated and sent to Erv Cowley at
the BLM for his review. This huc
will be put on the October agenda for a continuing review.
Palisades 17040104 – Genna Ashley reviewed the changes she had made
resulting from the 7/22/05 TWG meeting. Idaho
incorporated the Wyoming linework and attributes where available.
Idaho split the Palisades Reservoir (Lower Palisades Reservoir 6th)
area differently from Wyoming’s delineations.
The reasons for the Idaho split are as follows:
1) The Little Elk Creek area is too small for a 6th field
(8100 acres), 2) The group did not want to break up the pure 6th
field Lower Big Elk Creek, and 3) the logical break for Lower Palisades
Reservoir is at the dam. Genna
Ashley will make these changes and send this and all other Idaho/Wyoming hucs to
Caribou-Targhee National Forest, and Wyoming cooperators.
This huc is considered draft-approved for concept lines.
The 24k linework will need to be checked and possibly updated in the
future.
Medicine Lodge 17040215 – This huc was reviewed by the group.
The changes that were identified from the previous review were gone over
and approved. There were several 6th
field numbering changes that needed to be made.
A portion of the 5th field huc “Idaho National Engineering
Laboratory” was re-sectioned and will be included with a portion of the Bare
Canyon (will be renamed to “Mud Lake) 5th field unit.
See shapefile TWG20050923.shp for specific line placement.
The “Idaho National Engineering Laboratory” 5th field name
will shorten to “Idaho National Laboratory”.
When these changes have been made, this huc will be sent to the INL
contact people (Luke White) for review. This
huc will also be sent to Christa Braun and Erv Cowley, BLM for their
suggestions. Information per
Christa – Nina is refining the 24k linework for the Medicine Lodge unit.
American Falls 17040206 –
This huc was not reviewed by the group.
It will be put on the October agenda for a continuing review.
Birch Creek 17040216 - This huc was reviewed by the TWG.
The 6th field area previously named “Birch Creek Valley”
was redrawn and named “Birch Creek Headwaters”.
Several other 6th fields in that area were renamed and
renumbered. The Irish Canyon and
Scott Canyon 6th fields were too small, and therefore combined into
the composite and renamed “Birch Creek-Irish Canyon”.
Many 6th field hucs were renamed and/or renumbered.
For specific line placement, see shapefile “TWG20050923.shp.
Christa Braun and Nina Madry (BLM) are working on 24k line refinement for
Birch Creek. Christa Braun will send Genna Ashley the latest BLM linework,
and Genna will incorporate the above-mentioned changes into the BLM linework.
As soon as these linework and attribute changes are incorporated, this
huc will be brought back for a final review.
Beaver Camas 17040214 – This huc was not reviewed by the TWG.
The changes from the prior review were sent to BLM and they are in the
process of reviewing the changes. This
huc will be put on the October agenda and reviewed at that time.
Blackfoot 17040207 – The TWG group looked at this huc and made some
very preliminary recommendations and observations. IDWR will delineate the 5th and 6th
field units for this huc and bring it back for a continuing review.
Portneuf 17040208
- The TWG group looked at this huc and made some very preliminary
recommendations and observations. IDWR
will delineate the 5th and 6th field units for this huc
and bring it back for a continuing review.
ACTION
ITEMS:
Genna Ashley will make the changes on the above-mentioned items and
coordinate with each cooperator for reviews.
Linda Davis will look for bathymetry for the American Falls
hydrologic unit, and check the reservoir area.
MISCELLANEOUS
DISCUSSION
BLM is currently working on the 24k linework refinement
for Birch, Beaver Camas, and Medicine Lodge hucs. Genna Ashley will coordinate with Christa Braun to make sure
all the current linework is merged with the current attributes and recent
changes made by the TWG.
There is a missing line between the 4th field
boundary of the Upper Snake-Rock and Little Wood hydrologic units.
Genna Ashley will restore this line and send a shapefile or coverage to
USGS for incorporation into their dataset.
