HUC REVIEW

Upper Henry’s 17040202 – Genna Ashley reviewed the changes she had made resulting from the 7/22/05 TWG meeting.  Idaho incorporated the Wyoming linework and attributes where available.  This huc is considered draft-approved for concept lines.  The 24k linework will need to be checked and possibly updated in the future

Lower Henry’s 17040203 – Genna Ashley reviewed the changes she had made resulting from the 7/22/05 TWG meeting.  Idaho incorporated the Wyoming linework and attributes where available.  This huc is considered draft-approved for concept lines.  The 24k linework will need to be checked and possibly updated in the future

Teton 17040204 – This huc was reviewed by the TWG.  Genna Ashley reviewed the changes she had made resulting from the 7/22/05 TWG meeting.  Idaho incorporated the Wyoming linework and attributes where available.  The difference between the 5th field numbering and name for Milk Creek/Canyon Creek.  It was determined that the huc in question belonged to the Canyon Creek 5th field unit, as the outlet huc.  Genna Ashley will rename/renumber the Canyon Creek and Milk Creek 5th fields.  When the above-mentioned changes are complete, this huc will be considered draft-approved for concept lines.  The 24k linework will need to be checked and possibly updated in the future, before certification.

Palisades 17040104 – This huc was not reviewed by the TWG.  It will be put on the September 23rd agenda and reviewed at that time.

American Falls 17040206 –                 The TWG reviewed this huc.  The drainage pattern of the 6th field units Twentymile Rock, Little Butte, and Butterfly Butte were reviewed in detail.  It was determined that these three hucs make up a “closed basin”, and the drainage outlet is blocked by lava flow.  A portion of the 6th field line between the Butterfly Butte and Martin Canal 6th field hucs was redrawn.  See shapefile “TWG20050819.shp” for specific line placement.

A portion of the 6th field line between the Martin Canal and Great Western Canal units was redrawn to more accurately reflect the contour lines of the area.  Genna Ashley will make the above-mentioned changes.

The American Falls Reservoir area was reviewed to determine where to break the 4th field boundary.  Linda Davis will try to find the Bathymetric data for this area so that these lines can be accurately reflected.  This huc will be reviewed again during the September meeting.

Medicine Lodge 17040215 - This huc was reviewed by the TWG.  Genna Ashley attributed the names and numbers.  There were numerous areas that did not have any named features (checked GNIS, etc.).  In these cases, the 5th or 6th field numbers were used as a place-holder, per the directions in the standards.

The area at the southern end of the Medicine Lodge Creek Outlet 6th field huc was redrawn to stop where the hydrography would stop, if there were hydrography in that area.  There was another 6th field area that Karen Hanson delineated (Deep Creek Outlet) that was delineated and brought down to a specific point, with no hydrography in the area.  The TWG would like to ask Karen Hanson if she had any additional data sources in this area that these lines were based on.  After more information is received from Karen Hanson, the linework in this area may be revised.  For specific line placement, see shapefile “TWG20050819.shp”.

A portion of the 6th field boundary line between the Tractor Flat and 170402150609 (no named features) was redrawn to more accurately reflect the topography, which would include a lakebed-like feature, if hydro was present and the lake was filled.  For specific line placement, see shapefile “TWG20050819.shp”.  Genna Ashley will make the above-mentioned changes and bring this huc back for a continuing review during the September TWG meeting.

Birch Creek 17040216 - This huc was not reviewed by the TWG.  It will be put on the September 23rd agenda and reviewed at that time.

Beaver Camas 17040214 – This huc was not reviewed by the TWG.  It will be put on the September 23rd agenda and reviewed at that time.

Blackfoot 17040207 – The TWG group looked at this huc and made some very preliminary recommendations and observations.  IDWR will delineate the 5th and 6th field units for this huc and bring it back for a continuing review.

Portneuf  17040208 - The TWG group looked at this huc and made some very preliminary recommendations and observations.  IDWR will delineate the 5th and 6th field units for this huc and bring it back for a continuing review.

 ACTION ITEMS:

Genna Ashley will make the above-mentioned changes on the items mentioned above.

Linda Davis will look for bathymetry for the American Falls hydrologic unit, and check the reservoir area.

Genna Ashley will send Leigh Bailey the link to the IDWR spatial data website so that she can download the 24k quad index for use with the 24k DRG data.

  MISCELLANEOUS DISCUSSION

Genna Ashley provided Leigh Bailey with the 24k DRG’s for the state via CD.  Genna will send Leigh the link to the IDWR spatial data website so that she can download the 24k quad index.
