HELP  This function allows users to query IDWR database. The functions are set up for Inquiry only and user has no modification privileges. The relevant elements of a water right or claim can be access through this system.

                    CLEAR  This function will clear the entered elements of a search only.

SEARCH  This function runs a query of IDWR database information. For each selected search item the display screen will show the claim number, all names and owner codes, stage, priority date, tributary, total diversion (this will be total diversion rate if greater than zero, otherwise it will be total diversion volume), and all water use codes with the short description of use

DETAILS  will show the entire claim/water right.

RELATED DOCUMENTS  will show all scanned in water right or claim documents.

                     PEDIGREE  will show all splits and root water right or claim numbers.

BASIN  Hydrologic Boundaries set by Idaho Department of Water Resources (2 character numberic).    See map. Selection must be contained in the Dropdown Basin Table or an error message will be displayed. Basins 01, 02, and 03 designate water is drawn directly from the Snake River.

Enter a starting right number. If the starting right number is blank, the query will start at the beginning of the      entered basin. Queries will continue until the last right number in the basin or until processing is interrupted.

Sequence – up to 5 characters, which must be numeric. Leading zero’s are not required

                     Split Suffix – up to 3 alpha characters

WHO  Claimant – Any person or organization that diverts water for beneficial use from a location in Idaho (Water Right) or the Snake River Basin (Claim) boundaries. This includes streams, springs, lakes, ground water, developed water, waste water, or any other source of water.

Last Name – 40 character AlphaNumeric

First Name – Can be left blank or use just first initial. If name is spelled incorrectly, may limit inquiry and find no results. Example: If "Michael" is used and claimant is listed as "Mike" you will receive the remark "NO RESULTS FOUND".

Organization – Company Names, DBA, and Trusts. Use no punctuation. You may have to run several searches such as: JR Simplot,Simplot, JR Simplot...

                     Government – Agency Abbreviations may be used, i.e., BLM – Bureau of Land Management

WHERE     POD – POINT OF DIVERSION – where the source of the water is diverted.

POU – PLACE OF USE – the actual land legal description where the water is put to beneficial use.

Enter the township – 3 characters AlphaNumberic – Valid values are 01N through 65N or 01S through 17S.

Enter the range – 3 characters Alpha Numeric – Valid values are 01E through 46E or 01W through 07W.

Enter the Section – 2-digit numeric – Valid values are 01 through 36.

Enter the tract – 4 character alphabetic – Used in pairs. Characters 1 and 3 must be either ‘ ‘, ‘N’, or ‘S’. Characters 2 and 4 must be ‘ ‘, ‘E’, or ‘W’. When entering a value to be searched on, the search will also be conducted on the following associated sets: If you entered NENE, then the search criteria is NENE, __NE, and ____; if you enter __NE, then the search criteria is __NE and ____.

Government Lot (Lot) – 2-digit numeric maximum. This is not a lot as described in a subdivision, but will be listed on a legal description as Govt Lot on a warranty deed or county tax assessment.
