Introduction

North Ada County is currently undergoing intense land and water resource development. An estimated 20,000 to 30,000 residential homes are proposed to be constructed in the area over the next 10 years. Ground water is currently being sought as the water supply for such developments. The area has been historically undeveloped and the ground water resources are currently not fully understood.

The Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) has proposed a detailed investigation across the study area to obtain a better understanding of the hydrogeology of the area. Complex hydrogeologic conditions exist that creates difficulty in determining the ground flow characteristics across the area. The ultimate outcome of the project will be a comprehensive report that summarizes the hydrogeology of North Ada County to be used in support of water management decisions in the area.

A draft cost estimate and scope of work have been prepared by IDWR, however, funding has not been secured at this time. More details of the project will be available as information regarding the funding of this project is released.
