Operational Applications

Wind The Idaho Energy Division has been assessing the potential for wind generation of electricity in Idaho. Here is some of what they have found.

Geothermal the locations and types of Idaho has abundant geothermal resources

Watersheds Federal and state agencies are mapping Idaho's 6th field watersheds. These are the draft watershed boundaries.

Well Drillers'  Locator Tool Input your location from a GPS, see your location on a digital ortho-photo quad with the quarter-quarter sections of the Public Land Survey.

Snake River High-Lift Pumps Some irrigators who pump water out of the Snake River are leaving some of their fields dry under a joint program between IDWR and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

Boise River Points of Diversion This is a study of points of irrigation diversion from the lower Boise River. It was done as part of the Boise 2000 Project.

Ada County Flood Hazard Mapping See what the flood hazard is for specific parcels of property in Ada County. Information about the parcel is available from direct, linked query of the Ada County Assessor's parcel database. This is the first county completed in Idaho.

Statewide Ground Water Monitoring Wells and Springs in the Statewide Ground Water Quality Monitoring Program at IDWR can be queried for test results.

Evapotranspiration: General Projects IDWR and the University of Idaho worked from 2000 to 2005 under a NASA grant to develop the means to map evapotranspiration from satellite data. This is an ET map of southern Idaho for the year 2000.

Thousand Springs Surface Water Model a graphical representation of the Thousand Springs surface Water model

Water Rights Accounting IDWR runs an accounting model for surface water-rights on 5 rivers: the Snake, the Boise, the Payette, the Big Lost, and the Bear

Bear River Basin Hydrologic Data IDWR has a database of surface and ground water points of diversion in the Bear River Basin

 


You can now clip and download a Zipfile with GIF images and shapefiles. This feature is available for the project "Evapotranspiration on the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer", and both General Mapping Tools.
