Water Rights Accounting

The Technical Services Bureau of IDWR has begun a project to bring new tools to surface water rights accounting. The project's goal is to make water rights accounting an open and transparent process that can be examined by the public via the Internet.
Within the Technical Services Bureau, the Hydrology Section and the Geospatial Technology Section are working together to achieve three project objectives:
          1.  Redesign and simplify the current water rights accounting models into a GIS environment
with integrated tools for data visualization and plotting.
          2.  Make model input data and results accessible over the Internet.

          3.  Develop and integrate QA/QC procedures.

The model input and output data can be accessed in two ways. The first is as tabular data and the second is by means of a spatial query from an interactive map.

Tabular Data

Tabular data are available at http://maps2.idwr.idaho.gov/qWRAccounting/WRA_Select.aspx
or from the button labeled "Tabular Data" on the interactive map.
Interactive Map
Accounting data can be found using a spatial query from an interactive map at http://maps.idwr.idaho.gov/wra/default.htm
