Expert Training

Expert training in SEBAL and METRIC was held August 19-23, 2002 at Idaho State University's GIS Training and Research Center in Pocatello, Idaho. The training had 17 attendees from state government (2), the federal government (1), various universities (13), and the private sector (1).

The course was taught by an international team of instructors: Dr. Richard G. Allen, Dr. Wim Bastiaanssen, and Mr. Ralf Waters. Dr. Allen is research professor at the University of Idaho, Kimberly Research Center. His specialty field is evapotranspiration. Dr. Bastiaanssen is the Scientific Director of WaterWatch in  Wageningen, The Netherlands. Dr. Bastiaanssen is the originator of the SEBAL model. Mr. Waters is a principal in Waters Consulting of Nelson B.C., Canada, and a specialist in fluid mechanics. The instructors were assisted by Mr. William J. Kramber, Senior Remote Sensing Analyst at the Idaho Department of Water Resources, and Mr. Masahiro Tasumi, PhD. candidate at the University of Idaho under Dr. Allen.
