Instructions for the SRBA Court Website

The SRBA Court website contains an abundance of information. If you know your subcase number (your adjudication claim number), you may want to start with IWATRS Reports. The Subcase Summary Report reviews information about a subcase including all filings and court dates. The Summary Sheet asks for a basin (the first 2-digits of your claim number) and subcase (the last 5-digits of your claim number plus any suffix). If your subcase number contains less than 5-digits you must add the leading zero's to your number, i.e. 00051. Additional links are provided below for your convenience, including frequently requested Court forms.

On June19, 1987 the Idaho Supreme Court issued an Order Appointing District Judge and Determining Venue of Petition for General Adjudication of Water Rights in the Snake River Basin . The Honorable Judge Daniel C. Hurlbutt, Jr. was designated presiding Judge with the venue being the District Court of the Fifth Judicial District of the State of Idaho. On November 19, 1987 Judge Hurlbutt lodged a Commencement Order establishing the beginning of what is now known as the SRBA. Judge Hurlbutt retired in December 1998. The Supreme Court then appointed Judge Barry Wood, who served through December 2000. Judge Roger Burdick was appointed to the SRBA on December 15, 2000 and is currently the presiding judge.

Partial Decree

A partial decree is the SRBA Court's official decision on your water right based on the claim to a water right you submitted. The final decree will be issued at the end of the case when all water rights have been reviewed and disputes resolved. You may request a copy of your official Parital Decree from IDWR by e-mail or a text only copy from the Court website.
