Drought Emergency Declarations

Drought emergency declarations are issued by IDWR and are approved by the Idaho governor. IDWR drought declarations apply only to the administrative processing of applications for temporary changes of water rights. They do not apply to issues such as financial or disaster support. Water right changes made under the provisions of an emergency drought declaration expire at the end of the current year unless extended or terminated by the IDWR Director.


So far in 2010, IDWR has issued Drought Emergency Declaration Orders approved by Governor C.L. Butch Otter for the following counties:
